The Goose on the Roof

Must read

An amusing book for children filled with fun, humor and a lesson to remember in the end.

The Goose on the RoofbySarah Sommeris an entertaining book that will definitely capture the interest of children. Everything is wholesome and family-friendly in this book. Parents are certain to find in this one an engaging tale that is fit for bedtime stories for their little ones.

The illustrations are awesome and express every scene in the story well. The story itself, which is written through rhyme is a simple yet imaginative tale that can be remembered long after it is read. It can even be read over and over while exploring new possibilities for both adults and children who enter the little girl’s world with her set of problems.

I think the idea of using a goose trapped on the roof is a great plot for humor and creativity. It will spark various ideas in children’s minds as they try to solve what seems to be a simple problem at the start.

Animal lovers would also be thrilled in this one because the story was able to use various animals as supporting characters in this little girl’s story. It’s not only the goose that gets the spotlight. Other animals also come one by one, each offering help to the little girl, and each encountering a problem that only seems to make the main problem worse.

How each animal’s attempt to help only adds up to the little girl’s confusion is something that adds interest to the story and helps build excitement as the story unfolds. How would a dog be able to help? How could a cat contribute to the solution?

As more and more animals capture the attention of children, their memory can also be enhanced. They can practice memorizing what the previous animals have attempted to do, what they’re doing now, and what could possibly happen to them in the end.

Kids can then make their own suggestions. What would they do if they were the ones to solve the little girl’s problem? What animals do they think could help them? How would they take care of the problems of all the animals that tried to help the little girl?

Without mentioning spoilers, I would like to assure the readers that there would be a satisfactory solution at the end of the book. There is also a simple lesson that children can apply in their daily lives as they encounter problems that seem too big for them to solve.
